Meant to post this last night, but someone’s gone and built county-by-county breakdown maps based on religious affiliation. It’s really interesting to see just how prevalant, say, the Baptists are in the South or the Lutherans in Minnesota. Somewhere in there, there’s a study on demographics, voting patterns…if I wasn’t so into the Middle East I’d smell a dissertation.

Geitner Simmons has an interesting discussion on these, particularly as they relate to Nebraska, one of the more religiously diverse states.
